Hello there
My name is Jordan Savoie. I'm a master's student in electrical
engineering studying superconducting transmission line amplifiers.
Long term, I would like to help build instrumentation for radio
telescopes.
I teach the junior circuits lab classes at Louisiana Tech University
and maintain the (unofficial) Louisiana Tech thesis/dissertation
LaTeX template. I'm working on getting it officially approved.
I dabble in far too many hobbies. A few that I have web presences
for include:
- Amateur Radio
-
I'm involved with the Louisiana Tech Amateur Radio Club
W5HGT
and the Piney Hills Amateur Radio Association.
- Mapping
-
I've made the mistake of getting interested in
OpenStreetMap. I'm mapping buildings, landuse, and points of
interesting in my home parish.
- Wikipedia
-
I occasionally edit
Wikipedia,
but I haven't been particularly active in a long time.
- Amateur Astronomy
-
I do a little bit of astrophotography with a
hand-me-down Celestron
computerized telescope. I sometimes post at
Cloudy Nights.
